The idea of ​​combining art and technology… Born in 1919, Walter Gropius became the ideological foundation of the modern furniture industry. Classical view of furniture mostly focused on beauty and prestige, while modern puts simplicity and functionality to the forefront. That, incidentally, does not mean neglecting the beauty, it just ceases to be an end in itself.

After 90 years of the Bauhaus movement, Spanish company Portobello Street created this collection of furniture for the living room and dining room – Collection Bauhaus. This is a very interesting remake: clean lines and nearly achromatic palette is wonderfully combined with elements of classic elegance, even including baroque.

The decoration uses paint, wood, and large chrome fittings and furniture as if floating above the ground. Take a look in our gallery below.
