A very tight building site necessitated a special design for the bottom of the Point Tower in Toronto, Ontario. The location is 40 Wellesley East, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Contrary to Toronto’s Hi-Rise Building Design Guidelines no “Podium” was used. The proposed 46-story tower was lifted up on freestanding columns with the elevator shaft visible, and exposed.
